Volunteer Supporter (Supported Living)
We have two excellent supported living projects: Balshagray House is located in Broomhill, whilst our Esmond Street service is in the Yorkhill area of the city.
We are looking for vounteers who have a postive attitude towards people with learning disabiity. Supported Living voluteers help assist people to live life to the full within their own home and the wider local community.
This opportunity is particuarly useful for those interested in a career in social care or social work. We are looking for individuals who seek to make a positive contribution to the daily lives of the people we work with. Examples of tasks include supporting service users with daily actvities and routines, as well as assisting on regular outings and social actvities.
Supported Living volunteers will gain invaluable experience of work within a social care setting. Full induction training, mentoring and peer support, as well as out of pocket expenses are provided as an integralpartof this role.
