Our Trip to Nuremburg

Our Trip To Nuremburg

During the last week in September 2005 a group of ten staff and service users from Enable Glasgow went on a visit to the city of Nuremburg, building on our long-standing connection with our sister organisation in the city, Noris Inklusion.  The visit was also part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of Glasgow’s twinning arrangement with Nuremburg.  Enable Glasgow has had a mutual relationship with Noris Inklusion for ten years now, and this is the second time we have visited.  Representatives from Noris Inklusion also visited us in Glasgow in April last year.

We came back with many new ideas on how we can develop our own services.  The week included a Civic Reception by the City of Nuremburg hosted by the Mayor, and we also met the President of the region of Franconia.  We spent a good deal of time in Noris Inklusion’s two workshop factories, and in some of their supported living facilities.

Many thanks to the cities of Glasgow and Nuremburg for supporting our continued relationship, and to our friends from Noris Inklusion for making us so welcome.  Also thanks to our wonderful service users from Fortune Works who represented Enable Glasgow, the city of Glasgow, and Scotland so well.
