Regular GB News readers may recall that for some years we have enjoyed a partnership with our counterpart organisation in Nuremburg, Germany, Noris Inklusion. In 2014, a group of staff and service users, along with some officials from the Nuremburg local authority, visited us for a week at Fortune Works, and the following year some of us went along to Nuremburg. These trips were kindly funded by Glasgow City Council and the City of Nuremburg. We also welcomed a student from Nuremburg on placement at Fortune Works, and a member of Noris Inklusion staff joined us for a week later that year. A number of further projects were planned but unfortunately the Covid 19 pandemic meant that these did not come to pass.
Nuremburg was Glasgow’s first twin city, and 2025 will see the 40th anniversary of the twinning arrangement. The Glasgow City Council International Office has been in touch with us in order to explore the possibility of reviving the partnership as part of the celebrations for the anniversary.
The Chief Executive of Noris Inklusion, along with some officials from the City of Nuremburg, will be visiting Scotland at the end of this month, and we have made arrangements to meet with them in order to explore this possibility further. No other firm arrangements have been made so far, but we will let everyone know about any further developments.
