The remodeled accommodation will provide:
Complete replacement of the conservatory area with more solid and extended open plan living space.
A small winter garden to complement the new living areas.
A completely new extended kitchen with more space for new appliances.
A new flexible multi use area.
New utility areas which will mean we will be able to operate more efficiently
Improved staff facilities and office space.
Because the Balshagray building is listed and is in a conservation area, the planning consent and building control approval process takes somewhat longer, but our architects have now submitted our plans and are confident these will be approved. If consent is granted in the timescale expected, we hope to be on site with the works in April next year.
Service users, family members, and staff have been closely involved throughout the design process, and everyone is really excited that our plans are soon to become reality. More news soon.
